fSAE Car Heads to California

On Monday, June 16, CETA’s fSAE race car left the United Tool and Die building in West Hartford, Connecticut, for Fontana, California, where the fSAE team will compete at the California Speedway June 25 through 28. Team captain Steve Osuch and Brett Tufano prepared the car for shipping by Craters & Freighters, specialty freight handlers. For their Father’s Day treat, Jeff Osuch, Steve’s father, and Louis Tufano, Brett’s father, spent the Sunday holiday with their sons working on the car to make sure that it was ready to go Monday morning. “We did go out to eat,” the senior Mr. Tufano assured everyone.

The team, Steve, Brett, assistant captain and lead fabricator John Scales, and Nick Gervasi will fly out to California on Tuesday, June 24, to make last-minute adjustments to the car and compete against teams from approximately 90 other schools including teams from Canada, Brazil, and Australia.

Everyone in CETA is rooting for the team.
